In the Book of Memory of Ukraine the names of 6210 Kremenchuzh people, who died in the Second World War, are listed. In Kremenchug during the war 97 thousand prisoners of war and civilians were destroyed.
October 28, 1941 in Kremenchug in one day were shot by German invaders and buried in the grave pits on Sand Mountain (as the Sands once called) 3000 Jews - women, children, elderly people.
