"Bloody violence". Piryatin
Seventy five years ago, in the spring of 1942, nearly three thousand people were killed by Nazis near Piryatin, Ukraine, in an area called Pirogova Levada. Nearly two thousand were killed in a single day – on April 6th, 1942. Most victims were Jews, however Roma, Ukrainians, and Russians were also targeted and killed. This year on April 6, with the support of RememberUs.org, over 300 people, many of them students, came from Piryatin, Kiev, Lubny, Mirgorod, Konotop, and Kremenchug to commemorate the victims.
